We first had the pleasure of experiencing James Steven’s beautiful music at our dad’s birthday party last summer. It was a particularly special birthday because of his illness, so we wanted to mark the occasion in a very special way, by surprising him with live Irish Fiddle music. James Steven spent a lot of time on the phone with me before the event getting to know my dad through my eyes. I was amazed at how he was able to weave the essence of my dad’s Irish heritage and humorous personality into a one-of-a-kind fiddle music performance tailored exactly to my dad. He told entertaining little stories between lively pieces of music. At the end, we all sang “For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow”, and you could really feel the love and sense of connection that James Steven facilitated in that moment. His performance was by far the highlight of the day. I will never forget looking around the room at the captivated faces of the partygoers while they enjoyed the experience of James Steven’s music, tales, and spirit.

 

A few months later when we were planning my dad’s memorial service, I was delighted to learn that James Steven specializes in performing beautiful classical violin music for funerals. I’m really grateful for the element of serenity that his wonderful music added that day. I would recommend James Steven to make any type of special occasion one that will be remembered forever.
